Trainee Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA in Training) / Radiation Protection Technician (RPT)

Permanent position. Full Time Monday to Friday 40 hours

Salary: from £28000 per year dependant on qualification and experience.

What is the RPT/Trainee RPA role?

On the job training is provided. You will be taught and mentored by the certificated team. You will learn about legislation and compliance with the Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017 (IRR17) and the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 (IR(ME)R17), and how to complete practical audit visits at our client premises.

The day-to-day role includes

  • Visiting client’s sites to complete audits and monitoring of equipment.
  • Drafting risk assessments, local rules and written reports following the visits.
  • Processing reports on our bespoke CRM system.
  • Although our offices are in Norfolk, our clients’ sites are throughout mainland UK and driving is an essential part of the role. The work may include long travel days and several nights away from home each month. A car/car allowance will be provided and mileage allowance according to agreement with the company policy and qualifying criteria.
  • There will be a requirement to spend some nights away during the week to undertake site visits. All travel and subsistence will be paid for while away undertaking this job.
  • Delivering training

Where the candidate has the appropriate qualifications, knowledge and experience support is provided to submit a portfolio of evidence for certification with RPA 2000.

Our successful candidate will be:

  • Someone who has studied a science-based subject at A Level/degree level. (Any past relevant experiential learning will be taken into consideration)
  • A person who has the ability and willingness to acquire job related knowledge through self-development and learning from others.
  • Happy to join a conscientious team but is also self-motivated and able to work independently with excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A confident, enthusiastic, effective communicator displaying meticulous confidentiality.
  • An individual with a strong customer service ethos, a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, with punctual attendance at work.

Must have held a full clean UK driving licence for at least a year.
