Our Charity of the Year is East Anglian Air Ambulance, our local life saving charity, and on Monday 24 October 2022, our staff body was lucky enough to visit their newly renovated 24/7 operational base and headquarters in Norwich.
We undertook a one-hour Community CPR session, learning basic life saving skills and how to use a defibrillator. The cardiac arrest survival rate in the UK is only around 10%, but if a defibrillator is used alongside effective CPR within the first 3-5 minutes, the chances of survival can increase between 40%-70%. So, following our training, we will all now be more confident in delivering bystander CPR and be able to help save more lives.
Following our training, we were treated to a tour of the base and offices….including a very exciting peak into the helicopter!
A very enjoyable morning was had by all and special thanks goes to our trainer and guide Paige!
