If you work with ionising radiation – x-rays, scanners or radioactive isotopes, you are required to have ‘adequate and appropriate’ training. If you are an employer, you must ensure that this training is provided and that there is at least one Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) at each site.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have indicated that they expect all ‘refresher’ training to be carried out at periods between 3, and not exceeding 5, years.
