Medical physics advice

Any employer carrying out medical exposures is required under Regulation 14 of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 to appoint a Medical Physics Expert (MPE).

An MPE is required to provide guidance on compliance with IR(ME)R17, including for example: the optimisation and measurement of patient doses, dosimetry, quality assurance matters pertaining to radiation protection and radiological equipment.
